When I was a small child growing up in Ark., we were served boiled rice, with sugar, (brown or white what ever we had on hand,) with butter and evaporated milk. It was a real treat if we had a little bit of vanilla flavoring to add to it. Made it taste like 'snow cream' or rice oudding. Anyway, it was the best breakfast I can remember. It was great served with buttered toast. This breakfast made you feel all warm and cozy inside.I recommend it to all. It's cheap, it feeds a lot, and boy! Is it good!! Love, Lynda |
